On August 9, the signing ceremony of “Pufang Medical Care and Pension Base Project of Tongji Hospital of HUST” launched by Hubei Chibi City People's Government and Beijing Aikang Group (“the Group”) was held successfully in Chibi. Li Chaoshu (Deputy Party Secretary of Chibi Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chibi City), Ye Wenhua (Secretary of Party Leadership Group, Chibi NPC Standing Committee and Executive Deputy Director), Hong Jinhu (Secretary of Party Working Committee, Chibi Economic Development Zone), Yi Jing (Member of Chibi Municipal Standing Committee and Leader of Chibi Communication Section), Dr. Wang Dong (Chairman of Beijing Aikang Group), and Lei Ming (Director and General Manager of Beijing Aikang Group), etc. attended the ceremony.

Pufang Medical Care and Pension Base Project of Tongji Hospital of HUST (“the Project”) is an important initiative launched by Chibi City People's Government and Beijing Aikang Group to collectively promote the implementation of the national policy on integrating health care and elderly care. It is planned to invest RMB 5 billion for the Project, with 3 square kilometers of planning land and 1,500 acres of construction land. As a whole, high-level planning and construction will be guaranteed to integrate an array of social welfare resources in the city. The base will give full play to the exceptional advantages in ecological, historical, cultural and geographical resources in Pufang and create a high-quality medical care and pension base focusing on the area. The base will extend its services to the whole central China and even throughout the country and serve as an example for the combination of medical care and pension, bringing benefits and comfort to the general public.

Upon this signing, Chibi City People's Government will classify the Project as a major program for people's livelihood, drum up policy support from Hubei Provincial Government and the central government for the key national pilot project of medical care and pension demonstration, help integrate the social welfare resources in Chibi and cooperate with Beijing Aikang Group on project implementation.

Furthermore, Chibi City People's Government will provide policy support for Tongjichibi Hospital, an affiliate of Beijing Aikang Group, implement preferential policy to introduce high-caliber professionals, help improve its medical level and ultimately promote the completion of South Hubei Tumor Hospital of the Group. South Hubei Tumor Hospital will become one of the most influential tumor hospitals in the southeast of Hubei Province by multi-cooperation at home and abroad and through new imported medical technology and equipment, bringing benefits to the public. Meanwhile, the hospital will definitely support the base and serve as a coordination mechanism to establish and improve medical institutions and nursing institutions for the aged.

The cooperation is definitely conducive to unify medical service and elderly care resources within Chibi and establish reasonable relations between medical institutions and nursing institutions for the aged. It will also create a series of quality institutions, such as hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers, form a large-scale health care network for the elderly and bring Beijing Aikang Group closer to its mission, to create equal medical environment with love.
